My Childhood Dream and unfulfilled Ambitions
Childhood is the most memorable stage in our life. The memories and events are etched deep down in our heads. The level of piousness, innocence and honesty is what we hold as a child. As a child, even, I was curious about my life and ambitions. I got creative talents, which was god gifted and passed through genes. Since childhood, I have been very much into dance, drama, and music. As an inquisitive child, I explored my hidden talents and pursued courses in tabla, karate and dance at an early age.
In India, every child either dreams of becoming a cricketer or an actor. Sorry to mention that even I was one of those. I always wanted to become an actor. Very few dream of becoming an engineer, doctor, or officer. Becoming an actor is a fantasy of every teenager. Not everyone becomes an actor. It needs a lot of sacrifice and hard work. I was selected by Yashraj Films in 2015 and called for an audition. But there’s a saying: man proposes, God disposes. Due to a lack of financial concern, I dumped my dream.
I came from a family where education is the most crucial tool to achieve success in life. Being an extrovert child, I indulged myself in extra co-curricular activities rather than studies. But a time came when I realized the importance of studies. I enrolled myself into a B. A course which offered triple-major degree courses in Journalism, Psychology, and English Literature.
Initially, it was difficult for me to stay committed to my studies. But after reaching adulthood, I realized that to earn bread and butter, we need to focus on our goals. Goals should always be realistic. Time passed and I discovered another hidden talent that was creative writing. Being a child of creative parents, I got writing skills from them and my maternal grandfather, once a renowned poet.
Dreaming is good, but daydreaming is fanciful. But that doesn’t mean we should stop dreaming. To achieve your goals and ambitions, all you need is the focus. I focused and now I am a writer.
